The Ocean Hugger is a queen size weighted blanket designed to help you fall asleep faster and feel calmer, naturally. Made of cool, crisp upcycled fabric for all-season comfort.

The Ocean Hugger is ideal for couples or for anyone looking for a weighted blanket that covers an entire queen size bed. The Hugger’s got even the tallest person covered!

Sleeping under weight sparks a natural chemical reaction in your body which helps you to sleep more deeply, and wake feeling rested and revitalized. The evenly-distributed weight across your body (or bodies) stimulates the production of serotonin (the happy hormone), reduces cortisol (the stress hormone), and increases melatonin, which helps you to fall and stay asleep.

Our Ocean Hugger is made with upcycled fabric that transforms ocean bound plastic into a soft, napworthy knit. Each Ocean Hugger prevents 600 plastic bottles from polluting our oceans.

Care

Spot clean with mild soap and warm water.

What’s the difference between the Ocean Hugger and the Cotton Hugger?

Our Cotton and Ocean weighted blankets are both available in queen size options, but they have a slightly different look and feel. The Cotton Hugger is made entirely of natural cotton with a buttery soft texture, while the Ocean Hugger is made of crisp, cool upcycled fabric.

The queen-sized Ocean Hugger weighs 20 lbs and is a good option if you’re looking for a lighter weighted blanket to cover your whole queen sized bed. The Cotton Hugger weighs 30 lbs and is a good option if you want a heavier queen sized blanket.

Can a couple share a weighted blanket?

Most weighted blankets can be shared by two people so long as you’re both comfy — but for the full benefits of evenly weighted Deep Touch Pressure (DTP), you’ll want to opt for a weighted blanket that’s specifically designed for two people to share, such as our Hugger.

Sleeping under weight has been proven to lower stress, ease anxiety, and improve the quality of your sleep, so these snuggles are definitely worth sharing.

What weight should a weighted blanket be for a couple?

Our queen size Hugger is designed to deliver just the right level of Deep Touch Pressure (DTP) for two people, and it could also be a good choice if you’re looking for a heavier option just for you!

We generally recommend choosing a weighted blanket that’s around 10% of your individual body weight, but when sharing a weighted blanket as a couple, the weight should distribute proportionally based on the amount of the blanket each person is resting beneath. If you’ll be using the Hugger alone or you prefer a lighter weight, we recommend choosing the 20 lb Ocean Hugger, and if you prefer a heavier weighted blanket, we recommend going for our 30 lb Cotton Hugger.

Our weighted blankets get their weight only from layers of soft, sustainable fibers.

The Cotton Hugger is made entirely of natural cotton that’s pre-washed and buttery soft for breathable, year-round comfort! We’re committed to sourcing Better Cotton, which helps promote planet kind, people friendly practices across cotton farming communities.

The Ocean Hugger is made entirely of GRS-certified recycled polyester, which transforms ocean bound plastic into a soft, napworthy knit that’s just right for all season use. Every Ocean Hugger prevents 600 plastic bottles from polluting our oceans.

Can you wash a queen sized weighted blanket?

To keep your queen size weighted blanket in snuggly shape for many naps to come, it’s important to follow the correct care instructions for the style of blanket that you have.

We don’t recommend washing your queen size weighted blanket at home. Our Ocean Hugger can be washed in a commercial size washer and dryer. Use cold water on a delicate cycle and tumble dry low. Do not bleach.

Our Cotton Hugger is dry clean only, and can be spot treated with mild soap and cold water between cleanings.

Can you use a weighted blanket on a queen size bed?

Yes! Our queen size weighted blanket measures 60 in x 80 in and is designed to fit just right on queen sized beds.
